Magicians of the Woods

Find yourself along a wooded creek or river bottom just as the sun begins to peek above the horizon and more likely than not, the sky will come alive with aerial acrobats. Their trademark “wee-e-e-e-e-k, wee-e-e-e-e-k” squeal echoing through the timber as they dip and dive towards the water. As quickly as summer ducks appear, they will pull a Houdini act, and vanish for the day. Only to reappear in the soft glowing light , as the sun dips below the horizon, moments before darkness sets in.
